Keys and Building Access
To gain electronic ID card access and keys for rooms and labs in the Plant Biology building, please visit our main office (room 166) or contact Krystal Witt.

Mail and Shipping Services
Mailroom, Lab mailboxes, and Graduate Student mailboxes are located in PLB 142. Faculty mailboxes are located in the hall on the 1st floor near the main office (room 166.)
Cold Storage of packages is located in South Wing room(s): Freezer S144 and Refrigerated S116.
U-Track to track items delivered by Logistics.
Mailing Packages:
- University Procurement and Logistics Mailing (campus mail, USPS, FedEx, dry ice, hazardous materials, and international shipping). Complete Mail Service Request form, attach printed form, and place package in or in front of campus mail bin in room 142.
- Pre-stamped USPS mail: Any mail, personal or business, that has postage paid is picked up directly by USPS mail carriers on a daily basis, just outside room 166.
- Campus mail: Any mail that is directed to another department on campus can be sent via campus mail. Campus mail is picked up twice daily and must be in the mail basket by 8:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m.
Poster Printing
The Plant Biology department computer lab offers poster printing for the Plant Biology
building and other surrounding departments.
- Posters can be printed on two different materials: satin photo paper ($35 per poster) or light weight fabric ($75 per poster).
- Posters must be smaller than 42” in one dimension, either height or width (poster can be resized in the computer lab if they are larger than this).
- Posters should be submitted at least 1 business day in advance — earlier if possible.

PLB Distribution Lists
The PLB Office distributes announcements using a Distribution List, or DL.
To request that information be distributed using a mialing list, please contact a
member of the PLB Office staff.
We maintain mailing lists that go to the following groups:
PLBALL
PLBALL is used to distribute information to the entire PLB community, except for undergraduate majors. Information about upcoming events, including seminars and dissertations, policy changes, and administrative notices are distributed via PLBALL.
PLB Grads
This list is used to distribute information to students enrolled in PLB PhD and Masters programs. Information pertinent to graduate students, such as opportunities for funding and registration for workshops, is distributed to PLBGRADS.
PLB Faculty
This list includes all faculty members in the department, including those with 0% appointments and specialist roles.
PLB Postdocs
This list serves research assistants, postdoctoral researchers, and technicians.
PLB Undergrads
This list serves undergraduate students, advising staff, and administrators.
Items such as work study opportunities, research positions, and information about
MSU and community resources can be distributed using this list.

PLB Guest Parking
Scratch off hangtag permits are no longer being offered as of January 1, 2025.
Plant Biology provides parking for their guests using a URL. To request guest parking, please fill out this form.
Please note, approval of URL requests will provide parking in specific pay-by-plate locations (employee lots will not normally be offered). Please advise guests to park only in pay-by-plate/off street parking areas only. Lots 54, 19, and 51 are closest to the Plant Biology building.
Guest and Event Parking at MSU
Any requests for guest parking including single or multi-day events, parking event staff and services, bus parking, along with department guests throughout the fiscal year. The form must be submitted by MSU departments at least ten (10) days prior to the event. Requests submitted with less than two business days’ notice may be delayed or unable to be accommodated. Submitted requests do not guarantee approval.
